Shrimp Tip 1: If you are using Reverse Osmosis water and a TDS Pen buffer the water to 190ppm for Neocaridina species using Shrimp Mineral (GH/KH +) and 130 ppm Shrimp Mineral (GH+) for soft water Caridina species.
Shrimp Tip 2: The Golden number for temperature is 22c for Bee shrimp and 24c for Neocaridina shrimp.
Shrimp Tip 3: Green Beans and fresh nettle leaves are what I feed my shrimp a lot of when they are available.
Shrimp Tip 4: If you are using tap water you must use a dechlorinator like Seachem's Prime as this bind harmful substances making them less toxic to your shrimp.
Shrimp Tip 5: Because I have brackish and freshwater shrimp I like to use Seachem Stability as a bacterial source as it can be used in both.
Shrimp Tip 6: Before you buy shrimp from someone look in the tank they came from... no baby shrimp means they were Imported or the person selling the shrimp doesn't know what they are doing. I am not saying imports are bad BUT Imports are normally a more stressed shrimp which can lead to disease, parasites and death, make sure you buy from trusted people with good reputations.
I have no idea why I have been buying shrimp anywhere else but from mark. Just received my painted red’s today (Wednesday) in the U.K. These were dispatched on Monday. Super fast delivery and they all survived and look happy. Thanks for the extra shrimp too .
I will be buying again that is for certain.
Thank you Mark.
Marks Shrimp Tanks
As an shrimp keeper I have a wealth of knowledge dating back almost 30 years and I have been breeding and keeping freshwater aquarium shrimp such as Red Cherry Shrimp, Crystal Red Shrimp, Taiwan Bee Shrimp for about 10 years.
Early in 2016 I decided to start my own YouTube channel called Marks Shrimp Tanks which you can find here https://goo.gl/JMPwor
I started my own channel to help others learn how to keep freshwater aquarium shrimp and I hope I can spread my passion for this wonderful hobby.
